4/17/2019 0 Comments Tour Desk LiabilityIn light of the recent safety incidents causing death and harm to tourist - I would like to bring your attention to how guests books excursions in your establishment - or in fact if you book them yourself when on vacation. If you have a tour desk in your hotel, this means in effect you are responsible for any tours being sold there to guest...... Yes thats correct. This business is operating on your premises, Therefore to cover yourself, check and ensure they have Public liability insurance, just as you would for a limousine service operating out of your hotel. A Tour Desk Public liability contract does exist so if this applies to you make sure you have a copy of it and that the policy is still valid....... If they do not have a license, it is up to you to either remove them or ensure they have a license. And act quickly. If guests have an accident you may end up with a large bill. Furthermore, please encourage the staff on the tour desk to ask guests to check their travel insurance policies before participating in any of the activities. Especially extreme sports/ activities as these generally are not covered by insurance companies.
