4/26/2019 0 Comments Oversized InflatablesA new trend is appearing in hotel pools, large oversized inflatables. These may be fun, but not so if your hotel has an infinity edge pool. Why ? look at the photo and you will see. A child or adult atop one of these can quite easily fall over the edge now of an infinity pool. The recent health and safety guidelines on these types of Inflatables is they should NOT be used in Infinity pools. Infinity pools were allowed as such in pool without safety guards, so long as the depth of the pool by the edge was 1.2 meters or above. Standing in the water even with your arms on top of the edge, would take a lot of strength to heave your self up and over. There is a particular concern with these type of Pools in private pool villas. Please ensure you add a disclaimer to all pool villas. Stating no oversized inflatables to be used. Also not to walk along or around the edge of the pool, especially if there is a large drop of more than 60cm below On another note even if you do not have an infinity pool as your main pool, as a courtesy to other guests please restrict these depending on the size of your pool. In an emergency these could obscure the view of someone in difficulty and could hinder rescue operations.
